Sad after reading the news that students burnt books at the library again....dont they realize that they are destroying precious resources that they need more than anyone else?....Also read that this happened after a spat between Congress and UML affiliated student wings, with both accusing the other of torching the library....whoever did it they should be ashamed of themselves...this incidents only shows how academia has increasingly become a space where political party play their political games...it has always been so, but the tendency is becoming even more pronounced....

it is always sad to see when not only students but professional academicians, including professors and administrative staff of the university becoming slaves of political parties....this is also a sad reality that even simple appointments at the university have to be backed by one of the major political parties....all this had led to where we are today, with libraries being burnt and academic excellence declining....one year ago i thought i had taught for 25 years already at TU and that I should retire now....after many students wrote to me saying that i should continue, i was beginning to waver...but this latest incident of library burning has reinforced my conviction that this is time for me to leave

Truly enjoyed watching Aarohan Gurkul's new play ROSHOMON (based on famous Japanese film) at Mandala Theater Anamnagar...its after a long time that i have seen such a wonderful play...Sunil Pokharel's direction was wonderful...i particularly liked the use of light, illuminating the front and backstage alternatively to juxtapose various strands of story telling...individual artists were wonderful too, Nisha Sharma, Sarita Giri, Suresh Chand, Bipin, Rajkumar and all others played great...and this might be the breakaway role of Prabin khatiwada, certainly the best I have seen him act....

stage setting and costumes were good, particularly liked the scene where Nisha arrives on the stage riding a "horse" as also the khukuri fights scenes between Suresh Chand and Pravin...since i was sitting right at the front of the hall, upon the mat, i was a bit concerned as to what would happen if one of them would lose hold of the khukuri and it would come hurling towards me....this play is full of drama, excitement, romance, sexuality, comedy, and strong passions of life. In addition, it raises important questions concerning the "truths" of Life...a must see for all theater lovers!
